Lumen Research Center in Humanistic Sciences and Lumen Publishing House in partnership with Al.I.Cuza University from Iasi (Faculty of Philosophy and Social and Political Sciences), Valahia University of Targoviste (Faculty of Law and Social Sciences), State University of Moldavia Chisinau (Faculty of Law), Kogalniceanu University of Iasi (Faculty of Law), Petre Andrei University of Iasi (Faculty of Law) invites you to attend the National Conference with international participation: Logos, Universality, Multidimensionality, Education, Novelty, 2011.
Organized to celebrate 10 years of Lumen Association activity, the conference will be held in Iasi between 18-19 of February.

15th of December 2010 – Launching the first call (Call-for Conference)
5th of January 2011 – Launching the second call (Call for Conference)
10th of February 2011 – Deadline for registration and submitting the summary accompanied by the article’s title, author’s full name, academic or university affiliation, scientific evidence etc. Also there will be mentioned some details about the author / authors, most significant publications, areas of interest etc. The title of the paper, abstract and keywords will be mandatory send in Romanian and English language by participants from Romania and Moldova, and only in English for participants from abroad. The abstract will have a maximum of 150 words and a maximum of six keywords. The abstract will be send at prlumen@gmail.com with the specification for the Conference: Logos, Universality, Mentality, Education, Novelty, 2011 and also the specification of the section in which the article is submitted. Participants may register a maximum of two papers in different sections. Anticipated submissions are encouraged.
12th of February 2011 – Acceptance of the Scientific Committee; the acceptance will be send as soon as we receive the abstracts, but the acceptance of the abstract should not be understood as the obligation to publish the article itself.
16th of February 2011 – Deadline for confirmation of participation and fee payment;
18th -19th of February 2011 – Conference Development;
10th of March 2011 – Deadline for sending the complete final version of the papers
20th of March 2011 – Answer of reviewers which can be: acceptance without any improvements, acceptance with the request of some improvements or rejection;
20th of April 2011 – deadline for sending the final version of the paper after the possible improvements;
20th of May 2011 – launching the volume on CD and in printed version.
The Conference will include:
- A plenary session;
- Papers presented on sections.
Papers presented at the Conference will be between 5 and 10 pages, A4 size, and will be published in collective volumes on CD. At the request of the authors these volumes can be ordered in printed version in sets of at least 10 copies with extra charge only for the section / sections he attended. Volumes will be published separately in English and Romanian, the authors being able to choose the language of publication, including bilingual publication. Participation in the conference and sending the full text of the article means the acceptance of the Conference regulations which will be posted on the website of Lumen Publishing House.
The fee for participation at the Conference is:
-100 lei for participants with a single paper and 130 lei for participants with two papers (different sections). The price includes: the program of the conference, a brochure with abstracts, participation diploma. Furthermore, the participants will receive on the mentioned address after 20th of May 2011, the volumes of the conference; those who want to attend the festive dinner will have to pay for it, as it is not included in the price.
* 70 lei for a single paper or 100 lei for two papers (different sections) for authors who have published at Lumen Publishing House in the past 10 years.
- Optional extra charge of 150 lei (for 10 copies) for those who wish the printed version of the volume of the conference in which the article is published in one of the chosen languages (Romanian, English).
- Optional extra charge of 200 lei (5 copies for each language publication) for those who wish the printed version of the volume of the conference in both publication languages.
Lumen Publishing House is accredited by C.N.C.S.I.S. Lumen Research Center in Humanistic Sciences is certified by the National Authority for Scientific Research as a Research Center.
Guidelines for publication of the papers presented at the conference
In the volume of the conference on the CD the text must be between 5 and 15 pages. The paper must include:
- The title in the language in which the article is published, as well as the translated version of the title in English (for the Romanian papers).
- The name of the authors and their affiliation as well as professional title, didactic position, financial source of the research if there is one, email address, phone number (optional);
- Abstract in English of maximum 150 words;
- Keywords in English, maximum 6 words; the abstract and keywords must be in English for both Romanian and English papers;
- The content of the paper must have: an introduction, chapters and subchapters distinctly marked as heading 1, heading 2 etc. and eventually numbered. The introduction must include a short motivation of the theme; a short literature review if desired; questions and objectives of the research.
- There will be a chapter or subchapter on methodology, justification of chosen methodology and the application method etc.
- There will be a chapter or subchapter of research results analysis and discussions;
- There must be a conclusion chapter.
- Quotations in the text will be given as a paraphrase; references will indicate the name of the author, the year of publication, for example: (Derrida, 2008). If more then three authors the reference will be as (Miftode et all, 2004).
- All citations and references in the text must be listed in the bibliography.
The bibliography will respect the APA STYLE rules.
- Example of volume: Miftode, V., (2010) Tratat de asistenta sociala. Protectia populatiilor specifice si automarginalizate, Editura Lumen, Iasi.
- Example of article in a journal: Dariescu, C., Dariescu, N. C, Rabbinical Chancery in Roumania an alternative to the State Organized Courts in Solving Family Matters in Jurnalul de Studii Juridice, Year V, No 3-4, 2010; 53-70.
- Example of chapters in books: Ailincai, A. (2010) Ancheta apreciativa si efecte ale comunicarii manageriale, in Sandu, A. (Coord.) (2010) Seminarii apreciative, Editura Lumen, Iasi.
- If the article is available online the quotation rules are the same with that of a book or journal with the specification of the website where it had been viewed.
- In case of many publications of the same author in the same year, there must be the specification a, b etc. near the year, for example 2010a.
The content of the CD will be posted on our site www.edituralumen.ro so that anyone who wants it can freely download it. Participants who publish in the conference volume agree to give the right of distributing the conference volume without any other author rights besides those of the copies ordered.
