Abstract :
This article presents a general view of the appreciative inquiry,
beginning with the origin of the appreciative inquiry method,
including some definitions of it, with its five basic principles
(Constructionist Principle, Principle of Simultaneity, Poetic Principle,
Anticipatory Principle and the Positive Principle), the steps
in the Appreciative Inquiry (Discovery, Dream, Design and
Destiny). This article also presents the Appreciative inquiry as a
way of Being in the World, but also as a Process and a Philosophy,
why does Appreciative inquiry work. We can find here examples
of Appreciative inquiry applications, including productivity,
innovation, strategy development, customer service, diversity,
evaluations, organizational culture, management audits, leadership
and a host of other problems, questions, issues or opportunities in
the organization. When people see the best in one another, when they share
their dreams and when they are connected in full voice, they can
create not just new worlds, but better worlds.
